Join me on Saturday Nov 16th at @thekubestudios in Gibsons BC for an Everlea Yarn pop-up and tapestry weaving skill-share. That means you can try your hand at some tapestry weaving techniques on our beautiful Mirrix Looms! It's going to be a chill day of knitting, weaving and yarn squishing. Join us!
We'll have all our yarns and looms and accessories available, including our naturally dyed Organic Merino fingering, sport and worsted weight yarns. Our Canadian Alpaca Plus (the perfect hat yarn) and all Mirrix Loom sizes from 8"-38", and the Spencer Power Treadle and loom extenders, spring kits etc, too.
If you've ever dabbled in the world of weft-faced tapestry weaving and are looking for some guidance on your approach to a design, assistance on a particular part of your current weaving or just a nudge to get you back into weaving tapestry this might be the perfect place for you. Janna is offering a laid back environment to weave alongside herself and other weavers as well as assistance and soft instruction as needed.
This evening would pair great with Janna's online introductory tapestry weaving workshop with the School of SweetGeorgia which is launching in early October. Learn more about Janna at www.everleayarn.ca

In this workshop students learn the fundamentals of the art tapestry weaving and gain a solid understanding of the process of warping up and weaving with multiple techniques like shape building, colour blending and textural techniques. We also talk about how to choose yarn for your projects, how to finish your tapestry as well as how to troubleshoot tapestry-specific issues.
Students will leave with a good start on a project in colours of their choosing from a range of naturally dyed yarns made by Janna.
