This workshop takes place via Zoom - you will get your Zoom link and password the day before the workshop. The recorded workshop will be available to watch for six months after the workshop takes place. If you are unable to attend the workshop you will have access to the playback.
About the workshop:
Learn the art of designing for and weaving tapestry in small-format sketchbook studies.
Tiny Tapestries is an intimate live workshop which introduces new weavers to the fundamentals of tapestry in a gentle yet rigorous 2-hour workshop. We cover the elements of design to consider for small-scale tapestry using paper collage and then dive into the basics of tapestry weaving including some 'magic' techniques.
Suggested Materials. You may buy the workshop kit HERE:
Paint chips or magazines cutouts that match your yarn colourways
Archival glue stick
Loom. Any loom will do: frame loom, homemade cardboard loom (5”X5” piece of cardboard)
Three or more colours of the same weight yarn (fingering,dk, or worsted weight)
