Hello, I'm Janna Maria

I would love to welcome you to my studio and teach you the wonders of my favourite ancient textile technique: TAPESTRY WEAVING.

I'm a tapestry weaver, professional dyer and longtime knitter. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University's Fibres and Material Practices program (2013), as well as a diploma in Textile Art from Capilano University (2010). I've been teaching since 2008 - it's my favourite thing to do! I would love for you to learn with me.

Find my current online offerings below.

My next LIVE online workshop is on
Saturday December 10th, 11am-2pm pacific

Introduction to Tapestry is intimate, live and online, and introduces new weavers to the ins and outs of weaving small-scale tapestry in a chock-full 2-hour workshop.

We cover the elements of design to consider for small-scale tapestry using paper collage and then dive into the basics of tapestry weaving including some 'magic' techniques.

Join my mailing list to be in the loop about my future live workshops

This workshop can be also offered live via Zoom to private groups, guilds and associations by request. Book this workshop for your online group by emailing janna(at)everleayarn.ca
