Knit City 2022 Recap

As expected, Knit City was a fun-filled whirlwind, beginning with my Introduction to Tapestry Weaving class on Friday morning. My eager students got right to weaving and everyone did amazing work.

Here are what my students made in three-hours flat, having not ever woven tapestry before. I was impressed! We were weaving with Everlea Mini Loom Kits.

A definite highlight of day-one of Knit City was meeting Stephanie Pearl McPhee @yarnharlot who went home with some pretty peach Everlea Fingering dyed with madder root, and left me with some very kind words about my yarn.

On Sunday I actually had a few minutes to crash the SweetGeorgia knitting and crochet meetup with a wee bit of weaving. It was perfect timing because I was determined to weave a sample on one of my Everlea Mini Looms to send home with Destiny and Cheryl of Seattle Yarn to accompany the Everlea Mini Loom Kits that they are now stocking in their shop!

The star of the weekend was my mom! My amazing mom got a first hand look at the ins and outs of my business in the month leading up to Knit City, helping me in the studio and then coming to Knit City and assisting me with my workshop, booth set up/take down and everything in between. She is the best assistant a gal could ask for and I love her to bits. Thanks mama!!

In this photo I am wearing my Ambershore shawl knit in Everlea Fingering in the Heart of the Madder trio of colourways, and Fiorella is wearing the short Mark of the Hand Shawl knit in Everlea Sport in the Speckled Twilight colourway. We are looking forward to a bigger booth and more fun at Knit City next year. See you then!
